THE STORY

Ocean Divine's story starts with some very large molluscs.

Established in 2009, by Brad Richards and Amanda Cartwright, who fuelled with inspiration from tasting the Southern Glory seafood, decided to produce unique, high quality seafood pies to satisfy all seafood and pie lovers.

Brads mother Jan Richards, moved to Stewart Island 13 years ago to join forces with Alistair Eade from EEC in setting up a mussel farm, and what was to become the new Southern Glory Oyster venture, now famous for its jumbo-sized, 100% sustainably farmed oysters.

Unique to Stewart Island, where the sea water is cool, pollution-free, and continuously monitored by the NZ Food Safety Authority, Southern Glory oysters and mussels are organically grown and certified by Assured Quality Organics.

Grown in the pristine waters of Big Glory Bay on lines suspended in nutrient rich water, the oysters and mussels are constantly exposed to the sunlight, keeping them free from grit and sand, and making them cleaner, creamier and genuinely tastier. Little wonder that Southern Glory oysters and mussels are fast gaining a reputation as a seriously delicious New Zealand delicacy.
